Travelers checks are a means of payment accepted worldwide.
The travelers checks often issued by Good Finance are popular with many travelers, especially in potentially unsafe travel countries or world travelers. They have the great advantage that they are replaced by the owner in the event of theft or loss, this also applies to credit cards. Furthermore, they can only be redeemed by the person to whom they were issued with an identity card or passport.
A signature must normally be given on the travelers’ checks directly upon purchase. If the signature differs from the signature on the ID card or passport, acceptance at banks will be refused. Most banks can order traveller’s checks for one percent of the purchase price, but usually for at least six euros and collect them a little later. Many banks also have traveller’s checks in stock. Travelers checks are best made in the currency of the country of travel or in US dollars. Unfortunately, there is often a fee when redeeming travelers’ checks.
Traveller’s checks are valid indefinitely. Therefore, after the end of a trip, they do not have to be returned to the issuing bank, but can still be used for another trip years later. In the meantime, travelers checks also function as a safe, but interest-free, means of storing money.
Travelers checks can be cashed in banks, exchange offices or even in large hotels.
Another fee is often due for this, but more and more acceptance points are foregoing it. Good Finance currently offers Travelers Checks in the following currencies: Euros, US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Japanese Yen and Australian Dollars. From a legal point of view, travelers checks are not checks, but insurance.
We advise you to invest at least a small part of your travel budget in traveller’s checks despite credit card availability.
In general, in any part of the world today, you can be sure that there is a working ATM somewhere, but if your credit card is stolen or there is a power outage or your credit card is confiscated from a foreign ATM (ATM), a single traveller’s check can still work wonders. Otherwise, you can rely on your credit cards abroad.
